Radio Bakery got its start in Greenpoint, and if you’ve never heard of it before, you must live under a peaceful rock, free of social media hype and viral croissants. Their second location in Prospect Heights has a lot of hits from the original—like their exceptionally engineered plain croissant and the rhubarb and custard seasonal croissant—plus a few twists: the earl grey in the beloved morning bun has been swapped for matcha and green sprinkles. The star of the show might be the simple-looking sesame scallion twist, which smells like onions and sesame oil as soon as you pick it up from its box. Come prepared for a line, and, if you take your pastries to nearby Prospect Park, expect at least one person to ask you if that’s from Radio Bakery, and how long you had to wait. For some of the best baked goods in NYC, almost any amount of time is worth it.
