David Doughie’s Bagelry
Included In
After developing a cultlike following for their New York-style bagels at Austin farmers markets, David Doughie’s opened a trailer outside of Fleet Coffee on the East Side. Now, instead of battling long lines and limited supply, you have reliable access to Austin's best bagels four days a week. They're hand-rolled, and soft and chewy inside, with a dark crust covered in tiny bubbles and a perfect bite. Try a plain bagel with schmear, or get it topped with thick layers of smoked salmon, cream cheese, capers, and onions. Just make sure to show up on the early side—they typically sell out about an hour before they close.
