When you see someone on the street with a smudge of glistening butter on their cheek, it's likely the work of Arsicault. The French bakery has been attracting block-long lines since its fantastic croissants debuted in the Richmond in 2019. Now, their third location (the second is near Civic Center) continues that legacy in Mission Rock.

Like the other locations, this Arsicault has a pastry case filled with tissue-paper-flaky plain, almond, chocolate, and ham and cheese croissants—and the lines are just as long, even before 8am opening. The waiting game is well worth it (and the line moves fast). Prioritize the almond croissant above all others, and for something just as buttery and less crescent-shaped, try the kouign amann. You’ll usually be able to find some free leaning space on the counters here, and there’s plenty of public seating right outside. Plus, you’re just a couple minutes' walk from China Basin Park.
